【9月10日 AFP】「平明で簡潔な英語表現法」を推進する英団体「プレーン・イングリッシュ・キャンペーン（Plain English Campaign）」が主催した「最も支離滅裂な英語」を決めるオンライン投票の結果が9日発表され、約4000人の投票でジョージ・W・ブッシュ（George W. Bush）前米大統領が1位の栄冠を手にした。
サッカーの元フランス代表エリック・カントナ（Eric Cantona）氏や、ビル・クリントン（Bill Clinton）元米大統領らもトップ10入りした。
トップ10に入った顔ぶれと発言は以下のとおり。
-1位：ブッシュ前大統領
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
